I'm Back!

Hi Everyone!

I'm finally back after a short break. Between my trip to NYC last weekend and A LOT of stress and not feeling well this past week, things seemed to have calmed down a little bit and I knew I needed to post some cards.

Not that I haven't been making them, I definitely have been but sitting down at the computer and getting them posted, etc. just hasn't been getting done. So, here I am with 5 new cards (told ya I've been making them! LOL!)

The first one was for a friend's birthday which I will also be submitting to the Simon Says Stamp challenge whose only requirement was to use checks, gingham or plaid in your layout. So, I went with checks. I also used the Hero Arts sets Cupcakes and Fanciful Swirl alphabet. The sentiment is also on Memory Box paper. I just love their paper. It's so pretty.

The next card was a try at the Color Layering Technique I saw the video for at Hero Arts. I like how it came out but I really want to try it again. I think it's going to take some practice. I used Ranger Distress Inks and Studio G pigment inks on the background.

This next one I made for the 2 Sketches 4 You challenge but I didn't get it to them in time. Oh well, I would still make the cards so it doesn't really matter!

For the flowers, I used a new stamp from Magenta and then colored them with Prismacolor Premiere colored pencils. I also added some bling. The background is a Hero Arts Cling Stamp called Flower Background that I stamped with Versamark ink and then heat-embossed with clear embossing powder.

My next card is one I did for a challenge over at Get Sketchy. Basically, at this point I'll use any excuse I can to use the Hero Arts digi butterflies from their Winged Friends set. I also used more Memory Box paper for the background. You can't go wrong with polka dots!

Last but not least is a card I did for a friend's son's 4th birthday. I love using the hippo stamp which I stamped once on the paper and then stamped on a separate piece, colored with Prismacolor Premiere colored pencils, and put on top of the first one using foam tape so it would stand out. The sentiment is from the Hero Arts Fanciful Swirl Alphabet set and the clouds are from Memory Box paper again (I told you I love their paper!).

I hope you enjoyed all my cards! See you soon!
