Christmas Tags

Well, I'm getting started early. I've ordered some Christmas stash lately and just had to use it!

I saw a tutorial that Tim Holtz did for Ranger using tags so I thought I could do it too. I went to Staples and got a pack of 100 shipping tags for $6. What a great alternative (and instant gratification) to cards.

Here are the stamps I used:
HA Swirl Tree
snowflakes, trees, branches, sentiments (all except "Wishing You... which is from the Wishing You Happy stamp from Print Works) and cardinal are from A Muse

Inks:
Ranger Distress Ink: Vintage Photo, Tea Dye, Fired Brick, Broken China

Misc:
Ranger Perfect Pearls
Prismacolor Colored Pencils
Copic Markers
Ranger Distress embossing powder in walnut
bling

Thursday Night Card

Hi Everyone!

Tonight's card is one I made for a friend to give to a guy who graduated high school in the face of amazing odds.

The guitar is from free clipart I found and the background is from free sheet music. I found both online.

I colored the guitar with Copics and Prismacolor Colored Pencils. I used Ranger Distress Ink in Vintage Photo, Tea Dye and Tattered Rose on the background and on the sentiment. The sentiment uses the Hero Arts Fanciful Swirl Alphabet set. I placed some buttons on the bottom to finish it out.

Enjoy!

Midnight Madness!

Hi Everyone!

Tonight's card is one I made using the sketch from the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge #67. Sugar Creek Hollow is this week's sponsor. Head on over to their store!

Sugar Creek Hollow is an exclusive online business located in the heart of Central Virginia, tight on the James River. They specialize in Vintage, Shabby, & Primitive Digi Stamps, digital watermarks, as well as carry a full selection of colors in their exclusive “Country Crinkle Ribbon”. They offer seasonal vintage paper gifts and unique Vintage Cell Phone holders. Stop by and sit a spell over on their front porch, or take a walk down memory lane with them. Tracy is offering one lucky winner a $25 Gift Certificate to her store.

The details:
I used the Hero Arts Friendship Definition digi for the background and distressed it with Ranger Distress Inks in Tattered Rose, Vintage Photo and Tea Dye.
The sentiment is from the Hero Arts You're The Best clear set.
The flowers are from the Cherry Blossoms Branch digi from Sugar Creek Hollow.
I colored the cherry blossoms with Copics and added some pink and white pearls.
Last but not least, I added some ribbon and a metal clip in the center of the bow.

Hope you like it!

Have a great night.

Thinking Of You

Hi everyone!

Tonight's card is one I made for a friend who recently suffered a loss in her family.

I started out with white card stock and using my Mac, I printed a flower digi freebie and the Thinking of You sentiment on it. The sentiment is one I typed using a font that I had.

I colored the image with Copics and added some gems. I also duplicated the butterfly and then used adhesive to place the one I cut out on top of the one from the image to give it depth. I also used Ranger Distress Ink in Tea Dye for the background.

Thanks for stopping by!

French Flowers

Hi Everyone!

I hope you are all doing well. Thanks so much for stopping by my blog.

Off topic, thank you so much for your prayers and happy thoughts during our difficult time. It means a great deal to me that you have taken time out of your lives to let me know your thoughts are with us.

On to tonight's card...

I created this card to submit to challenge sketch #75 over at CardPatterns.com. I was going for a French-themed look and hope I succeeded!

I started out with some white card stock which I folded to create a card and then stamped with a French writing stamp I have from Magenta Stamps. The flowers are from the Got Dots collection from Prima and I added some button brads, ribbon and some scrap paper I had with some sweet wording on it.

Enjoy!

Trying to get back in the saddle... again

Good Evening!

I'm back with my first card since our beloved Truman passed and while I found it a little difficult to get my creative mojo back, I'm happy with how this one turned out, especially since it wasn't the easiest of challenges.

I'm entering this card into 2 challenges. The first is Play Date Cafe and the 2nd is Hero Arts. The theme for Play Date Cafe is to create a card using "Color Splash". In this case, they wanted black, white and green. For Hero Arts, the August challenge is "Keeping In Touch" or "Back To School". I think this works well for "Keeping In Touch".

The black/gray flower is a digi freebie that I colored with a black Prismacolor colored pencil and then added 2, green flowers, a button and a white pearl. The background is the HA stamp, Raindrop Background. The sentiment is from the HA Fanciful Swirl Alphabet set and the dragonfly is from the HA Winged Friends digi set. The flourish is from a Tim Holtz Stamper's Anonymous set and the green pearls started out white and then I colored the with a Copic marker.

Enjoy!
