Happy Thoughts and Prayers Needed Desperately!

Hi Everyone,

I really need help on this one.

A friend and co-worker had a brain aneurysm and then a stroke on Friday, 9/24 and she isn't doing well.

Please, if you could, keep her in your thoughts. She was young and in great shape and very, very driven and strong. She is a fighter.

This is such a blow to so many people. She needs all the prayers she can get.

Thank you so much everyone!

Sincerely,
Megan

The Harvest

Happy Saturday everyone!

I created today's card for the Sugar Creek Hollow DT. It is based on the SCH digi stamp, "Lord of the Harvest Tag" but has many different elements added to it.

Don't forget to head on over to the Sugar Creek Hollow store and check out all the wonderful items that are offered. I know you won't be disappointed. The digis are SO fun to work with and how great is it that you can do so many different things with them like change the size, add color, print them and cut them out... the possibilities are endless!

Stamps: SCH Lord of the Harvest Tag, Baby Jacks, Flourishes Crow and Rachael's Swirly Tree
DP: Memory Box & some I had from scrap
Ink: Ranger Distress Ink in Vintage Photo, Tea Dye and Scattered Straw
Misc: Pebbles Chalk, Prismacolor colored pencils, gold gems

Enjoy!

Happy Retirement

Good evening!

Tonight I made a card for a friend of my mom's who is retiring. It's for a male and I think making male cards is always a little challenging but I used my favorite color combo, brown and blue so it wasn't too bad. :)

Stamp: Hero Arts Small Greetings
Card stock: kraft from Hero Arts
DP: Memory Box & some I had from scrap
Ink: Ranger Distress Ink in Vintage Photo, Tea Dye and Broken China
Misc: antique brads from Making Memories

Enjoy!

A Favorite Picture

I found this on my computer today and just had to post it. This is my husband, Brian and our dog Truman who we had to put down on 8/1/10. I love this picture. It was taken in 9/08.

Sugar Creek Hollow Card

Good morning everyone!

I made this card for the Sugar Creek Hollow DT. The card needed to be black, cream and red. The bicycle and sentiment are digis from Sugar Creek Hollow. The background paper is from Graphic 45. I also used Ranger Distress Ink in Tea Dye, Vintage Photo and Fired Brick around the edges, added some red pearl stickers and 3 black brads. Last but not least, I added the red ribbon.

Enjoy!

Still Here

Wow, it feels like I've been away for weeks but it's only been a few days. I miss crafting but haven't felt like doing a darned thing. I've had a nasty cold since this past Saturday and I gotta say, enough is enough! I've been rude to it, talked sweetly to it and then just downright ignored it but it apparently likes me and doesn't want to leave yet so here I am, whining a little. I hope to be up and crafting again soon.

Thanks for stopping by!

A Challenge

I love having a goal. I love being determined, driven and I especially love a challenge. This brings me to my newest one: Operation Paris.

My husband knows how much I love the French language. He told me last night that I take pride in it, even try to correct him when he mis-pronounces the words. I actually took French in high school but that was a long time ago & I remember very little of it. So, my husband proposed a deal: I learn French and he will take me to Paris. Not bad, huh?

So, this is my new goal, to learn French. I'm going to look into language software. I'm pretty computer-savvy so I think that will be right up my alley.

Here is what I think of when I think of Paris. A lovely cafe, a newspaper and coffee. Wish me luck!

An SCH Sketch Challenge

Good morning everyone!

This morning's card is one I created for Sugar Creek Hollow. The DT was given a fun sketch challenge and with so many wonderful digi stamps to choose from, it was difficult deciding what to create! Well, I tried and here's what I came up with.

Why not head on over to the SCH store. Tracy's images are beautiful, vintage designs which can be used in so many different ways. You are only limited by your imagination! (the prices are great too)

Last but certainly not least, please check out the other DT members blogs over on the right of this page. They are an amazingly talented group of women!

Here is the sketch:

And here is my card:

Thanks so much for visiting!

Spooooooky Haunted House!

It's getting to be that time of year again... Here in Upstate NY it's starting to get cooler (I like "cooler" but not "cold") the leaves are turning and I've started drinking hot coffee in the morning instead of my Summer staple, iced coffee.

With all that being said, I'm getting in the mood for Halloween. One of my favorite things about Halloween are haunted houses so, why not make a card?!

The haunted house is an image I got from clipartpal.com which also included 2 bats. I opened up the image in Photoshop, cleaned it up a little and duplicated one of the bats so I could have more than 2. I also downloaded a free font from dafont.com to make that very scary looking font for the sentiment.

I colored the house with Copics and Prismacolor colored pencils. The background paper is from Memory Box (I LOVE their paper!). I also used Ranger Distress Ink in Tea Dye and Vintage Photo around the edges of everything.

Enjoy!

Sugar Creek Hollow Blog Hop

We are just a few weeks away to the official start of fall. To celebrate, we are kicking off the season today at Sugar Creek Hollow with some fantastic Fall Digis and a Brand New Design Team. Over on the right is the Design Team list. Come take a look at who's on the team. They have some great cards to show you using the latest digis. Then, make sure to visit the store to purchase any of these great digis. We even have some Vintage gift ideas you can purchase.

For inspiration, here are a couple cards that I created using Sugar Creek Hollow's fabulous digis. The owner, Tracy, is extremely creative and very nice to work with. Don't hesitate to head on over to the Sugar Creek Hollow store and check things out (why not buy a few digis too!?).
