A Thank You

Hi everyone! It's been awhile but I'm still making cards here and there. I have a renewed love for my Copic markers so that has gotten me into doing some new things.

As for card making, here is a new one I made as a thank you to a friend for making a marathon training plan for me. It means SO much to me that she did this!

I Haven't Left

I am still here but I've taken a little break from the cardmaking. I think I will probably start doing it more again when the weather gets colder but right now I'm focusing on running and training for my 2nd half marathon in September.

My Foray Into Knitting

Well, I figured I could make this blog into more of a crafty blog than just card making. I still love card making but I have other crafty interests and here is one that I've been doing on and off for years: knitting.

I got back into knitting because I've always loved the look of cables but never attempted them. They loked difficult and scary (yet beautiful) and I didn't think I had the skill and patience for them. Well, come to find out, cables don't require much of either so I'm all set!

A friend introduced me to the website Ravelry and I'm hooked! There are tons of free (and paid) patterns and forums and all sorts of stuff. Below are some patterns I got from Ravelry that I knitted up. I'm big into scarves as you can tell since it's extremely cold here in Upstate NY and I just think they are cool (no pun intended) looking.

Here's the beginning of hopefully and long and healthy knitting relationship.

Yup, that's me. I know, I should try to be a supermodel. NOT! LOL! Oh well, I wanted to give you a better idea of what this cool cowl looks like on someone and since I'm the one who's wearing it, who better to show you?

Ok, I lied. These patterns aren't all from Ravelry. This cowl is one a friend gave me. I'm not sure where she got it. Sorry!

Needles: US 15 circular

Ok, these are definitely from Ravelry. Here's the link: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/hot-times I decided not to seam the ends together because this scarf is very bulky and I like having the freedom to tie it the way I want to. The cream one I kept and the purple one is for my mother-in-law.

Last but not least is a headband. I'm not sure how I like it but it will keep my ears warm. It has a cable running down the middle which is hard to see because of the yarn having different colors in it but I like how it has a button and since it was my first attempt at a headband, I'm ok with it. Christmas Cards

Hi there!

I haven't been on in awhile but I received an order to make some Christmas cards so I figured this is as good a time as any to take some pics of them and say hi to everyone who still stops by my blog.

I worked on these cards yesterday and realized that while I'm not as obsessed with making them as I once was, my tastes have changed as well. The cards I enjoyed making 2 years ago are not the ones I would really like making now. I like simpler ones now and I'm sure that the ones I created yesterday shows that.

All of the cards I made are for kids. I have 2 more to finish and I will post those when they are done.

It's Been Awhile...

Well, it's been awhile since I've posted anything because honestly, I just wasn't into card making like I was. I'm feeling the card making "itch" returning so it won't be long 'till I post some more.

I hope everyone is doing well especially in the wake of Hurricane Sandy. I live in Upstate NY and we were extremely lucky not to get any damage but 200 short miles south of here there was complete devastation. My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone that was affected.

My 2nd card for tonight is a Mother's Day card I made for my mother-in-law. I enjoyed making this (any excuse to use my Copics!) since I've been looking forward to using the hydrangea digi stamp for awhile.

Computers and Other Stuff

Wow, I've been without a computer back and forth for awhile. Well, it's a long story but I sold my Mac Mini in January, ordered a refurbished MacBook Pro, that didn't work. Then I ordered another one and that didn't work. Finally, this week I have one. It's an awesome 2009 MacBook Pro that so far I'm very happy with. So, that means that I can print out the digital stuff I need for the bakery signs and finally get working on them. I'm also on vacation this coming week so that will give me time.

So, I'm going to post some more stuff soon. Don't think I've forgotten!
